Saving Savannah

Laura DeLange

Savannah Smith is finally free from a horrible marriage and an abusive relative and now on her way to Carson City to become a school teacher. When she falls ill on the train, she wonders if she’s being punished for having hope and trying to start a new life.

Dr. David Baker is on his way to Denver where he’s purchased a building to open his own medical practice. The first thing he notices is her beauty, the second is that she’s so ill that she won’t survive the remainder of the trip. He takes her off the train and secures lodging for Savannah at the Broad Street Boarding house then continues to check on her until she’s fully recovered. Now that her plans to go to Carson City are no longer an option, Savannah has to find employment in Denver and asks Dr. Baker if he needs someone to cook, clean, and help out with his patients.

Once they start working together, Dr. Baker realizes she’s more than just a former patient. She’s kind, beautiful, and a gifted assistant. Can he convince her to be a part of his life forever, or will the trauma from her past keep them apart?
