 CHRISTMAS SISTERS   Book Two

Few men can stand up to Carla Dennis’s strict standards of character. Jake Harrison, her new brother-in-law, is one of the many who fall way short in Carla’s eyes, made worse because of a couple of “facts” about him. she thought she gleaned at her sister’s wedding several months ago.

This has made life much more difficult for Jake, as he fell for the stubborn, unbending woman the minute he set eyes on her almost a year ago. No longer willing to live with the frustration any longer, he determines to set Carla straight about her misunderstanding and then wash his hands of her for good. But when Carla ends up having to take on a declutter and cleaning job alone because her business partner is injured, Jake ends up becoming her temporary helper.

And temporary is what they both want the situation to be. As in, just a few days. And not so much as look at each other if at all possible during that period.
Until two problems crop up. The first is an apparent rat infestation. The second, the deceased hoarder who used to own the house they’re working on has hatched some surprises, all good, for whomever cares enough to take on her decades of junk collecting.

Jake finds the biggest surprise of all, and is sure it’s the ticket to convincing Carla that he’s not the evil person she’s made him out to be. Problem is, she overhears just enough of a phone conversation between him and a mystery lady to cement her negative opinion of him.

Christmas is approaching quickly. The mega-surprise is in danger of being lost forever. Jake needs to get his rear in gear, and fast, if he’s going to give Carla the best Christmas gift of her life.

Assuming she's still alive when you read this, Emily Josephine lives somewhere on Planet Earth with a couple of people she refers to as "family" when she's in a good mood, writing stories with characters who lead much more interesting lives than she does, with an eye toward entertaining readers as well as encouraging them to grow into the person God created them to be, and in so doing endeavoring to kick the habit of writing run-on sentences; however, she sometimes waxes Charles Dickens-ish and is at such times unable to help herself - and speaking of famous people, if you look for "Emily Josephine" on any social media site or on YouTube, you will find more than one person going by that gorgeous name, but it will not be THE Emily Josephine, the author about whom you are now reading, because Emily Josephine The Author is severely and deathly allergic to both social media and YouTube, and if anyone tries to assert the proposition that such an allergy is an absolute and certain impossibility, she will stoutly deny their denial, "stout" being an absolute and certain absurdity in this context as there has never been anything stout about Emily except for the blessedly brief period of her life when she was pregnant and a mommy to a newborn baby.
