A Chance for Emmaline

 LAST CHANCE BRIDES   Book Five

Emmaline Holton was five years old when the blizzard of 1878 left her an orphan. Her uncle wanted to raise her, but his difficult wife objected. That left only one relative to help Emmaline, her cousin Rachel and her new husband, Samuel.

Fifteen years later, Last Chance has suffered through a severe drought and crop failure. As a result, many people have left town. Emmaline, now twenty, wonders if she too will need to leave town to find love and a future.

Logan Mercer refuses to marry the woman his parents have chosen for him. He leaves his family home in Wisconsin and heads West. After reading about the town of Last Chance, Logan wonders if he could find a future in a town that needs to start over or continue his trip West?

When Logan agrees to work with Samuel, will his friendship with Emmaline blossom into more?

Neither Emmaline nor Logan expected to find love in the struggling town of Last Chance. Are they each other’s future or just another stone in their rocky paths to find happiness?

This is a sweet romance.

Welcome to Last Chance, Nebraska. If you liked The Blizzard Brides, you are going to love Last Chance Brides. After the drought of 1893 and the crop failure of 1894, Last Chance finds itself on the brink of death once more. Most of the townspeople have departed, businesses have closed, and the town is nearly bankrupt.

Can a group of young women, convince men to take a chance on a town called Last Chance and help rebuild the town they love? Will these marriages succeed under such harsh conditions, or will love dry up and scatter like the prairie tumbleweeds?

This is an interconnected multi-author project, but each book is a complete story with a HEA ending, no cliffhangers. They can be read alone but should be read in order for the most enjoyment.

More in this series.

I was born in Wisconsin and lived there until I was eighteen. Then I spent eight years in Washington state and California before returning to Wisconsin. I love eerie places and books. I began with a love of Nancy Drew books and as I grew I found H.P Lovecraft, Poe, Agatha Christie, and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle among others. When I am not writing, I am reading or watching sunsets. Gypsy Spirits is my debut novel and the first in the series of three "spirit" books. My first supernatural mystery, THE LETTER, was released in 2013. Since then I have added eight more Kellie Conley mysteries. I decided to try my hand at a cozy mystery and released Heavenly Corners, the first in the Annie Ryan series. I took a step outside the box with Kathryn's Justice, a thriller. Western Historical Romance is my newest genre and I have added five books in the Mail-Order Brides of Gentle Falls series and took part in a few multi-author projects. I am sure my muse will guide me into a new story plot soon.
