Amy Talbot hasn’t been allowed to celebrate Christmas since she was orphaned and arrived at her Uncle’s uncaring house seven years ago. Since then, she has been used as a servant, and not allowed to use the generous trust fund left to her by her beloved parents. When she discovers a terrible plot to relieve her of the fund in the most devious manner, she hatches a plan to escape.

Rancher Ellis Maddocks is fed up with spending his Christmases alone and places an advert in the Matrimonial Times. He’s hopeful for a wife, and he falls in love with Amy. When she arrives, she withholds the information about her trust fund and he’s delighted that she embraces her new world.

For the first time in her life, Amy is happy – and hasn’t touched a cent of her trust. But when a terrible event means that they will need the money to survive, Amy knows that she has the means to save the ranch. It also means that she must tell Ellis the truth about who she really is.
