She's running from her past. He's certain she is the one for his future.
THE BROAD STREET BOARDING HOUSE   Book Twenty-two

Josephine Milton has moved to Denver to start a new life away from the gossip of those who can’t stop talking about the scandalous events of her father’s arrest and hanging. When she gets to Denver and moves into the Broad Street Boarding house, she gets a job as a caretaker for a widow who’s healing up from an illness.

Walter Lewis is struggling too much while juggling his new law office and caring for his aging and ill grandmother that he has no time to even consider courting anyone even if he had the mind to. He’s skeptical at first to hire Josephine, but when his grandmother hires her anyway, Walter comes to realize she’s the best thing that has happened recently.

While he’s not interested in marriage, Grandmother’s new assistant is more fascinating than he’d anticipated and he finds himself reconsidering his stance on bachelorhood. Will he find the courage to allow himself to fall for someone of the working class, or will he be destined to live his life alone?
